High Tea

Afternoon tea

An Omni William Penn tradition

The William Penn proudly offers its elegant tea service to attendees of the 2009 Annual Gathering. This event is well-known around the region and with tea aficionados for its knowledgeable servers; loose-leaf teas kept remarkably hot; and delicate, beautiful and delicious edibles served in a stunning Baroque atmosphere. To quote two reviews, "Nothing can compare with tea at the William Penn," which is "one of the city's most civilized experiences." And you have the opportunity to attend your choice of two private sittings planned just for AG-goers!

The AG High Teas will include:

  • Assorted William Penn pastries (2 per person)
  • Traditional triangle-shaped tea sandwiches filled with a selection of smoked salmon and cucumber, smoked turkey and baby spinach, tuna and radicchio, and vegetarian cream cheese (3 pieces per person)
  • An English scone with golden raisins, served with Devonshire cream and raspberry preserves (1 per person)
  • Palm Court Blend tea as well as freshly brewed regular and decaffeinated coffees

The AG teas will take place on Thursday and Friday afternoon. Each sitting is limited to 48 patrons, so reservations are required. (If the first two events sell out, an additional sitting is possible for Saturday afternoon.) The cost is $35. Make your reservation as part of the overall registration process.

Please note that, as a "high tea" event, this is an excuse to wear your finery! Very casual attire such as shorts and T-shirts is not appropriate. So let's see your fancy duds!
